Planetary Awakening Network

A web-ring is a group of web pages associated through common interests and linked together in a "ring." Like a ring, (or a circle) there is no beginning or end, and all points on the circle (web-sites belonging to the ring) are equidistant from the center, (the purpose) thus implying the equality of all points with each other, and the absence of any one or two predominant figures. In a very real sense, a web ring is held together by each participants dedication to it's purpose.

Aside from the philosophical aspects, web wise, a ring is extremely useful in increasing traffic to all sites involved. The theory is that if someone finds one site in the ring, since that is where their interest lies, they will explore all the other sites within the ring - due to the similarity in purpose. In other words, by joining together in a ring, the chances of someone finding your site are vastly increased - in direct proportion to the number of sites utilizing the ring.

In the spiritual, holistic, and environmental fields of endeavor, the concept of practicing community has long been talked about. A web-ring is community in action.

All member networks of the Planetary Awakening Network are most warmly invited to participate.

How do I join the PAN Web-Ring?

It will take just a little knowledge of working with html, tags, FTP, and assorted web skills, but it is not all that difficult if you follow the four steps listed below. If you have a professionally managed site, your webmaster will do the work for you. For those who wish professional assistance (which is not really needed), arrangements have been made with a professional web services company to assist you at a substantially reduced rate. The web-ring concept was pioneered by a young and inspired man named Sage, to whom we are indebted for his innovation. Go to the graphics page and right-click, or click and hold the mouse button to get a pop-up menu and save them to your computer.

PLEASE DO NOT reference the images off this or anyone else's site or server - unless you have asked permission first. It slows down traffic considerably! And besides, an image is easier to work with if you first save it to your own server or hard drive.

Add yourself to the queue (this is just a fancy word for a waiting list) by using the submit form below. This puts your site in line to be added to the ring.

Go to the html fragment page. Add the HTML fragment to your home page. It's really just a matter of cutting and pasting, then making a few MINOR changes - so don't let the thought of working directly with code strike terror in your heart. Get a grip; you're a lightworker. You know that there's nothing to fear but code... er... I mean fear itself.

Send an email to panring@spiritual-endeavors.org to let me know you've added the code to your page(s). Please include your URL and site ID number. Make sure you have the HTML code already inserted into your page(s). If the html fragment is not on the page that you have listed as your main URL, please tell me which page(s) it's on. That's all there is to it! Your site will be reviewed to make sure that the code is functioning properly and that all is in working order. All you have to do is just sit back and wait for stuff to happen.

When you have been added to the ring, you will receive an e-mail informing you of your addition.
